My favorite things (Well, for now...)

So what, I haven't blogged in a bit. It's the holidays... it happens. Been loving the time with family and friends and lots and lots of food. I have several posts started but nothing ready for you guys to check out, so in the mean time I'm taking The Nester up on her "Favorite Things" linky party offer.

Join me for a quick overview of some of my current favorite things! (And unfortunately I'm not Oprah, so I can't give them all to you.) My last one one is kind of a *cheat* because it was not less than $30 like we were supposed to do.

Essie polish in "Mink Muffs". I'm not big on painting my fingernails, but I've kind of been obsessed with this chocolate brown color. It's neutral and looks so much better with my skin tone than any reds or pinks.

Whole Foods' cheddar scallion biscuits. I CRAVE these things and run to our local store (Greenlife) to enjoy one with a cup of soup for lunch occassionally during the week. One time they didn't have any out with the soup so I asked the nice lady at the bakery and she gave me one literally the size of my head. Delish.

Scentsy's Oats & Honey. My friendworker (friend + co-worker) introduced me to Scentsy and I am happy to say I'm fairly certain that store-bought air fresheners are a thing of the past in my house! This smell is so yummy and makes my house smell like I've always got something amazing baking in the oven.

My Premier Jewelry necklace. I wear this thing... most days. So classic and pretty!

My brand-spankin' new washer and dryer! Thanks to Lowe's for the great deal on this Whirlpool set. Plus, I'm a big fan of the free delivery and haul-away. It's so nice not having to wring out our clothes before putting them in the dryer. haha

There ya have it! Hope everyone is having a great week! Can you believe that tomorrow is the first day of DECEMBER???

Fail.

Water-marbling.
Ever heard of it?

No?

Well, this is what it looks like if done correctly:

Kinda neat, right?
Thought I would give it a try with some neutral colors...

Fail.

Think I'll stick to crafty things and cooking. :)

I have the most talented friends!

Since some renovations in our two bathrooms have kept us busy for the past couple of weeks (reveals to come soon!) I'm totally taking advantage of my uber talented friends to keep the blog interesting. First was Laura's homemade Audrey Hepburn costume (which I think should not be reserved just for Halloween... think how fun it would be for a little girl to play dress up with or even to use for pictures!) and now for a quick DIY art project from my sweet friend Caitie.

Using 12x12 canvas, scrapbook paper, and modge podge Caitie made some really beautiful art to go over the bed in the master bedroom.

I really love this idea, Caitie! I have become increasingly disintered in mass-produced art at everyday department/home stores over the last few years. It can be really pretty, but it just doesn't feel special.  I love having unique pieces in my home, and one way to make sure it's one-of-a-kind is to do it myself! This project is such a great options because you can totally customize it to fit the space on the wall you're needing to fill and the colors and patterns are up to you.

So come on and give Caitie some love! What do you think?
