I have the most talented friends!

Since some renovations in our two bathrooms have kept us busy for the past couple of weeks (reveals to come soon!) I'm totally taking advantage of my uber talented friends to keep the blog interesting. First was Laura's homemade Audrey Hepburn costume (which I think should not be reserved just for Halloween... think how fun it would be for a little girl to play dress up with or even to use for pictures!) and now for a quick DIY art project from my sweet friend Caitie.

Using 12x12 canvas, scrapbook paper, and modge podge Caitie made some really beautiful art to go over the bed in the master bedroom.

I really love this idea, Caitie! I have become increasingly disintered in mass-produced art at everyday department/home stores over the last few years. It can be really pretty, but it just doesn't feel special.  I love having unique pieces in my home, and one way to make sure it's one-of-a-kind is to do it myself! This project is such a great options because you can totally customize it to fit the space on the wall you're needing to fill and the colors and patterns are up to you.

So come on and give Caitie some love! What do you think?

  5. The costume was adorable!!! I want to be Audrey Hepburn too! lol

Catie did a great job! I'm addicted to scrapbook paper - so many pretty patterns. This is a great way to display them (instead of just hoarding them!).

    Have a great week, Dana!

  8. Catie, how did you keep the mod podge from wrinkling the scrapbook paper? When I tried to use mod podge it gave it a very wet, wrinkly look. I also read a tip on another site that it's impossible to do it if you want a sleek look. Do you have a secret you can share? Thanks!!
